JAS Associates, Ltd. is a licensed Civil Engineering firm located in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg.  For nearly 30 years, JAS has been providing creative solutions to our client's unique needs. Opened in 1981 as a branch office of Joseph A. Schudt and Associates to focus on the explosive growth of this northwest suburb.  In 1998, JAS Associates, Ltd. was established when the current President, Jim Uecker, purchased this branch office.

Firm Principals

• President, James C. Uecker, P.E. - James earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois.  He currently holds Professional Engineering Registration in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.  He is a Past President of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and Past National Director of the National Society of Professional Engineers.  He started his career in 1965 in municipal engineering serving as the City Engineer of Elgin, IL through the early 1970's.  He has been in private practice since 1972.


• Vice President, Matthew D. Whisler, P.E. - Matt earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton in 1996.  He currently holds Professional Engineering Registration in Illinois, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia.  He started his professional career at JAS after graduation from U.D. in 1996.
